okay so when is someone using quantum bonds and a polymer output to make a very-non-trivial period 2 puzzle?

Honestly, having never once solved for period before, this feels pretty good. Rotations instead of tracks allows for only one tile used for a large amount of work done, and arm 5 in particular is definitely pulling its weight. Arm 2 uses track since otherwise the arm swing would cover an extra tile, and arm 1's job is only completable by a static arm when in a position that gets hit in the final swing. Overall, I'd say this gets quite good value from the space it uses, though the final swing seems like it could be a bit better if geometry allowed.
